Abandoned Child
November 6th, 2009“Abandoned Child” is about a homeless young girl under the age of five. She searches for help from the adults around her, but does not ever succeed in finding a home. She dies, and isn’t missed by her treacherous family. Unfortunately, homelessness in children often results in death, more often than not. The abandoned child in this poem identifies with many insects, flying off on a dragonfly’s back at the end of the poem.
